Network Engineer — Contract, Data Centre Migration
Brackenway Network Services Ltd · London, United Kingdom
ContractHybrid£450 – £580 per day
**The work**
A six-month contract supporting a data centre migration for a financial services client. Building and staging leaf and spine switches, writing and peer-reviewing the change records, running the VLAN and BGP cutovers inside the approved windows, and holding the rollback plan. Two days a week on site in the City, the rest remote, with weekend change windows roughly once a fortnight.
**What you need**
- Five years or more in enterprise or data centre networking.
- BGP and VLAN/STP to the point where you can design the cutover, not just execute it.
- Cisco NX-OS or an equivalent data centre platform in production.
- EVPN/VXLAN exposure is preferred; we will not filter you out without it.
- You will need to pass a standard financial services background check before you start.
**What we offer**
A day rate in the band above with an uplift for out-of-hours windows, a genuine hybrid pattern, and a client who has already extended the last two contractors on this programme. Laptop and lab access are supplied.
**How to apply**
Apply through CableJob. Answer the screening questions in the form; we reply to every application within five working days.
